Mike Rhoades, MBA, CEO

Mike is CEO and Founder of Blaze Advisors, a leader in strategic planning and execution of High Performance, Clinically Integrated health networks.  Mike has served in a variety of executive and advisory roles including COO of a multi-state IDN, CEO of ambulatory multi-specialty network, and senior executive for a 2 million life Accountable Care Organization where he architected and commercialized cross-platform care management, analytics, and health information exchange tools for 23,000 physicians and 120 hospitals.  In addition, Mike has broad industry experience serving as Managing Director in a regional private equity network for over 15 years and deep ties in the Medical Device, Digital Health, and Life Sciences verticals.  Mike has led efforts to organize Clinically Integrated Networks and has assisted organizations with turnaround planning, post-M&A integration, and performance improvement.  Additionally, Mike has experience in policy development, rate setting, and investigative support in matters relative to OIG, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and others.

Kathy Smith, Ph.D., COO

Kathy Smith, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who, for the past 20 years, has worked in schools, state facilities, private practice, and community/public behavioral health dedicating her work to making a difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities facing mental health, substance use, and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has served as Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Operating Officer for large statewide MHSUDD provider organizations.  With her executive team, she developed a successful quality program providing the full continuum of MHSUDD services including community, facility, and office based urgent, emergent, and routine services.  Kathy has also directed clinical and operational teams through significant operational changes as well as multiple payment and service delivery reform efforts; she has partnered with local, state and national stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain innovative and traditional services and has presented trainings and seminars in local, state, and national forums.


Kathy received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and her doctorate from the University of Georgia and is licensed in North Carolina as a licensed psychologist.


Rich Dettmann, MBA, Vice President of Finance & Technology

Rich is a transformational business leader and turnaround expert offering strong performance in all aspects of strategic financial and operational management including financial planning, reporting, budget oversight, process improvement, and organizational change. Rich has served in a variety of leadership roles including; Senior Operational Finance & Strategic Initiatives Leader for a multi-state BHSA & DD provider, Multi-Division Finance Leader of a multi-state IDN and an International Dialysis provider, and Senior Operational Finance Leader in Telecommunications. Since joining Blaze Advisors, Rich has led both internal and external financial operations to include budgeting, financial analysis, financial systems implementations, and KPI development. Rich has also managed various projects in the development of; a comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse strategy, a market landscape analysis and growth strategy for a multistate BHSA provider, a market realignment and channel partnership strategy for a healthcare technology and service provider with market penetration challenges, and the comprehensive analysis of a CIN and Care Management strategy that identified key areas with significant cost reduction and ROI improvement opportunities. 


Rich holds a Masters in Business Administration from Georgia Southern University and was inducted in Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society for outstanding academic achievement.


Jill Lineberger, Senior Vice President

Jill Lineberger is an innovative executive who has worked in the behavioral healthcare industry for 20 years, accumulating an extensive background of experience in facility operations, fiscal management, systems of care, practice operations, and community integration. She has served in a variety of multi-state executive leadership positions, developing and deploying high performance networks focused on bringing diverse groups together and guiding them through the formation of transformative strategies. Jill has successfully helped teams redesign and implement competitive concepts that have enabled communities to effectively address social determinates of health, improve health outcomes through integrated care models, and enable systems to leverage partnerships to better service specialized mental health population using evidence based practices. 

At Blaze, she combines her experience as a front-line provider, working with an array of mental health and substance use issues, with business management insights and best practices to help teams in the deployment of large system changes, continuous improvement cycles, data collection planning and implementation, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, and community integration. Her vast experience in operations, managed care strategies, expense management, and acquisitions has helped companies successfully achieve their realization.


Deborah Aldridge, MSN, RN-BC, Senior Vice President

Deb holds a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing from St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul, MN and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is ANCC Board Certified in Nursing Informatics, and has held various roles in nursing over her 20+ year career including home health, work-comp insurance case management, long term care, critical/acute care, and ambulatory care. She began her work in informatics in 2004 and became informatics certified in 2006. She has been involved in various technology implementations and improvement projects in acute and ambulatory environments. One of her biggest accomplishments in informatics was leading North Carolina’s Beacon Community award. One of 17 awards nationwide, this 16.9 Million dollar collaborative agreement from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services focused efforts on transforming healthcare delivery and coordination through the implementation of innovative Health IT.

For the last seven years Deb has been involved in quality improvement for Community Care of North Carolina (CCNC). She works closely with large data-sets identifying opportunities and tracking progress for both care management and provider practices within a three-county network. She is currently coaching various provider practices through healthcare transformation in preparation for payment reform – combining QI and Informatics. Deb enjoys constant and motivating change in all areas of life! 


Alycia James, Senior Vice President

Alycia has 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has expertise in strategic planning, operational efficiency, physician and patient engagement, clinical research as a care option, market strategy, business development and strategic partnerships. Alycia has served in a variety of executive roles within companies such as The Advisory Board Company, Xerox Healthcare, and Press Ganey. In those roles, she worked with health care organizations of all types and at all stages of the value based continuum.  She was responsible for creating new lines of business, securing regulatory certifications, growth strategy, and building teams of experts to assist health care organizations with performance improvement, clinical integration, and quality strategy. As a division leader, Alycia has improved profitability by up to 65%, increasing both top and bottom line revenue. In her work with a 14 hospital system, she led the development of a quality dashboard limiting their KPI's from over 100 to fewer than 20, all of which had ties to clinical, operational and financial outcomes. This allowed them to manage to goals without any additional staff, technology, integration, or workflows. 


Alycia utilizes an innovative yet practical approach to improving operational efficiencies and engaging teams at all levels in the success of the organization. Her approach is tailored to each organization’s strategic goals, operational needs and culture and she ensures that each project results in clinical, operational, and financial gains. She holds Bachelor and Master Degrees from the University of Illinois.


Jose Castillo, MBA, PMP, Vice President

Jose is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) with 16+ years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments around multiple countries. A Civil Engineer by training, Jose is bringing his knowledge in project management, business processes improvement, data analytics, financial analysis and operations to provide a different and unique perspective to the healthcare industry. Jose holds a Specialization in Project Management from Andres Bello Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela, and a Masters of Business Administration from North Carolina State University, with concentrations in Financial Management, Operations & Supply Chain and Data Analytics. Jose was also inducted in Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society for outstanding academic achievement in Business School.
